In the week running up to the yearly Loy Krathong ลอยกระทง festival in Chiang Mai, the old city that lays within the moat turns into one labyrinth-like night market absolutely full of tourists, both foreign and domestic. On the east side of the inner walls off Ratwithi Road ถนนราชวิถี, there were a few different music ensembles competing for audience. This small four-man band caught our attention as they set up shop and started rocking out on the side of street. We could not recognize the tune they were jamming, but we are guessing that they were attempting some cover of some popular Thai rock-pop tune or another. –These videos are all part of the new guidebook we are putting together here at Other Places Publishing for Thailand.
