May, 19 - Visakha Bucha Day (public holiday): it is a day to commemorate three important events of Buddhism: the birth, the enlightenment and the passing away of the Buddha. Miraculously, these events fell in the same month and on the same date.

• May 24-25 - BIS Flying Fish - Tawan Cruises Challenge Phuket 2008 - this event planned to be a first swim challenge with many participants coming from South Asia and Australia. There will be (separate) races for youngsters aged from 7 to 18 years.
• May 26-29 - Phuket Celebrity Golf Tour in Loch Palm Golf Club (contact - Jeff Ogden) - this is a charity golf event there handicapped players may play with celebrities from UK (football and showbiz stars). Events will take place @ Gracelands Hotel resort at Patong Beach there you’ll be entertained by invited celebrities every evening.
• May 31 - June 1 - Tenth Phuket International Rugby
• June, 15 - Laguna Phuket International Marathon - huge sport event with more than 6 thousands participants planned. There will be various events include Kid’s Run (2k distance), full and half Runs (42k and 21k meters).
• June, 22 - TriBallistic Malaiwana Triathlon - this event will be @ Indigo Pearl Resort during early morning hours (from 6am). There will be 3 separate races - Adult Sprint (Swim 750m, Bike 20km, Run 5km), Splash ‘n’ Dash (Swim 50m, Bike 3km, Run 750m) and Junior (Swim 200m, Bike 6km, Run 1.5km).
