Recently Thailand has changed laws related to advertisement of real estate properties during construction (“Condominium Act”): It makes developers accountable for claims made in their advertisements and imposes fines.
New Condominium Act will take effect on July 4. After construction is finished it’s owners have to provide full report about their previous advertising companies to local authorithy. In case if there will be differences between real situation and commercial offers in advertisement the owner have to pay fine. Seems like a good news to condo buyers. Sad part is fine’s range is between 50k and 100k Bahts (1700-3300 USD) – too low to stop multi-million projects’ owners from dishonest advertisement. But still it is a move forward.
