It’s sad that lately we hear criminal news from Phuket, Thailand more and more often. Now it is a murder (most likely) of 26 years old swedish tourist in Phuket which was identified by local police as Hanna Charlotta Backlund. Dead body was discovered by her travel companions near the bungalow they had rented. Appears that she was attacked with sharp object and her neck and body has multiple stab wounds. Police report says the attack involved 3 or 4 people and appeared to have been attempted rape.

Despite fact Phuket police has (had) best investigators in Thailand it seems that unpunished crimes against tourists becomes usual here.

Edit: March, 19 - police arrested suspected killer - Akkaradej Tunkae, 31, has been charged with the murder of Hanna Backlund.
