Pattaya, Thailand: 1 Tourist Killed, 2 Injured in Street Fight
Once again sad news from Thailand. Three Estonian tourists were ushered into bar in Pattaya (Walking Street, Soi 15 — see it close to a sea shore in top-left part of map of Pattaya — it is a local “red light district”) but finally decided not to enter it (some bars have too high entry fee novadays). Thai men at entrance became angry and light brawl sparkled. Tourists decided to complaint about the incident to mobile police patrol unit and were told to make report to Police Station.
Seeing police doesn’t care much about the incident Estonians decided to handle situation by themselves and returned to bar there they faced 15 thais. One of tourists barely escaped fight, another was hit into head with steel pole and third was stabbed in leg with a broken bottle. This hit damaged major arthery. Some sources says the guy died soon after that, some — he is in Pattaya Memorial Hospital under medical treatment and is OK.
Incident occured at Monday’s morning in center of busy street in Pattaya and no arrests were made yet. Our advice: do not try to fight with locals — there is 100% chance you’ll be overwhelmed by them.
